Acrylic vs Gel Nails

I have a question. Do gel nails require the use of a drill? I want to avoid that and every time I go to a nail salon and request gel they drill my natural nail. I’m trying to avoid that I believe you only need slight buffing and the adhesive. Am I right?

I believe that nail salons are charging extra for the gel nail polish rather than the gel nail extension, as we ask for acrylic gel= powder/monomer on fake nails and gel polish (which is why they use the UV light). correct me if i’m wrong please cause I’m kinda confused too

I suck at doing acrylic

Why even use acrylic though?? From a financial stand point, when poly gels exist, I see little purpose to buy all the stuff that you need for acrylic nails. Mainly when the odor is terrible, you have to use so many products, and you have way less working time with acrylic. Please someone help and tell me what advantages acrylic has over poly gels because I'm ready to turn away from acrylic and never go back as far as doing my own nails is concerned.

I can't do arcylic because it feels like I'm suffocating. It throws me into a panic attack literally. I can only do gel. Thanks for this vid. It helped me to know the difference. Now I know to only get the gel.
