This much requested purple smokey eye tutorial adds a glamorous twist to one of A/W's trends. I teamed it with quite a strong red lip at the end that, as I say in the film, ‘makes it a bit of a number' but it would work equally well with a neutral lip. If you fancy a bit of high-octane glamour… give the whole look a go.

I can’t guarantee that all of the make-up and skincare products I recommend will suit you. I only use products I personally think are good having tried them on myself and my clients but everyone's skin is different and it's possible to be allergic to anything. Wherever possible, test products out on yourself before purchasing.

I only feature products I like, or want to try. The products I use in these videos are either purchased by me or sent to me by make-up companies to use in my professional capacity as a make-up artist for fashion and celebrity photo shoots, red carpet etc. I am also sent products by many of the top magazines to judge for awards.

I do not accept payment and am not sponsored to make any of the films on this channel. Some of the links under the videos and blog posts on my site are affiliated however and as stated before, I only feature products I like, or want to try.

  1. I'd like to see a Burgundy/Cranberry eye please. I couldnt find one. This one should be called Purple Rain after Prince reminds me of the film and the girl who was always in purple eyeshadow. not sure her name. watched it other day very 80s make up. cute. love it Thanks

  2. Greetings from Canada Lisa! This look turned out gorgeous on you, just stunning! I am going to try to rock this look for a Christmas Party I have coming up I just wasn't sure about the lips, then I remembered this video from way back when, and re-watched it for inspiration. I also HAVE to say about your hair here… the volume filled loose waves and the colour looks heavenly 🙂 I shall be using a Dior quint I bought years ago the 208 Navy design…it creates a lovely lavender eye which is also quite nice. Fingers crossed!

  3. I have green eyes and I find purple to be the worst color, it makes my eyes look tired like I haven't slept all night
but looks very nice on you Lisa

  4. I have just stumbled across your video's recently and I find you to be so informative and great to listen to about applying make up…thank you for sharing your knowledge! I really love the smokey eye look and love this purple one especially

  5. This would look wonderful on Keira Knightley! And of course, it looks just as wonderful on you. Great job as always, Lisa! I normally like coming up with my own make up looks, but your videos are really a must. You are truly the most elegant make up artist ever!

  6. For some reason, I haven't remembered you ever addressing that issue with the MUFE foundation (probably because this is not one of the looks I'm more likely to copy from you). THANK YOU! I've been really wanting to use that again but I always found it so hard to make it work for me. My skin is combination-oily, but I get a little bit of the flakiness (between the brows, around the nose and blemishes).I always used a full pump, thinking that should do it– but made me incredibly caked up. And the buffing flat top brush sure does make my dry patches look much worse. I'd sure try that out by tomorrow!

  7. Lisa I love you hair colour in this one! I've been looking for a similar shade recently! Though I'm guessing that's au naturel.Love this video; purple is one of my favorite colours so this was such a great video to watch! 🙂
